What is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and is used for weight loss and weight maintenance alongside reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It works in part by regulating appetite, helping patients feel fuller and experience fewer food cravings.
Using the contraceptive pill?
We advise an additional barrier method or switch to a non-oral method for four weeks after starting Mounjaro and four weeks after each dose increase. Mounjaro should not be used during pregnancy.

Yes. Small air bubbles can occur in the cartridge. Follow the priming instructions supplied with your KwikPen before each injection. Priming helps remove air from the needle and confirms that the pen is working correctly.

Yes. A small drop of liquid may remain on the needle tip after priming or injecting. This is normal.

A small drop of blood at the injection site can happen. If this occurs, gently press the area with cotton wool or gauze. Do not rub the injection site.

Follow the KwikPen instructions carefully and keep the dose knob pressed in while slowly counting to 5. Check that the 0 icon is visible in the dose window before removing the needle from your skin.
